Most JOURNEYS travelers are women. Our small-group and custom trips have a special allure for active women of all ages searching for unusual, life-changing experiences.

JOURNEYS' mission is to provide exotic guided travel that is safe, professional, adventurous, creative and boundary-breaking. We offer unique and very personal cross-cultural tours, crafts and festival trips, photography and natural history tours, safaris, and treks.

We provide special connections with local women's groups, access to indigenous communities, visits in homes and schools, and camaraderie with like-minded travelers. Even our most active trips are not competitive. We know that the greatest rewards come from taking time to savor events and interactions, not from finishing first.

It is our pleasure to customize a private women's trip for you and your friends and family members, or to welcome you on one of our group trips. Some JOURNEYS group trips are for women only; most are mixed. We welcome solo women participants on all group trips. We can match you with a female roommate or accommodate your request for a single room. Sometimes women join our tours while their spouses take a different kind of vacation.

JOURNEYS' unparalleled tradition of travel for women dates back to the 1980's when co-founder Joan Weber first conceived of women's treks to the remote villages of Nepal. The joy and friendship and learning that came from those trips -- for travelers and hosts alike -- established a standard for all the JOURNEYS women's trips that followed, in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Pacific. With enthusiasm and delight, and with years of accumulated experience, the JOURNEYS staff is ready to act on your dreams.
