Tigers are never easy to see in the wild, but this trip to the greatest tiger sanctuaries of south Asia may be your best chance to not only see tigers, but other large mammals, birds and the finest natural ecosystems remaining south of the Himalayas. While nature and wildlife will be the main theme of our quest, we will divert the expedition to experience some of the greatest archaeological and historical sites of northern India including the Taj Mahal, Khajuraho and Delhi. We are traveling at the best time of year for wildlife viewing, encountering the wintering and migrating bird species and avoiding the extremes of weather which come with the pre-monsoon and monsoon summer months.
You will travel as comfortably as our wilderness-seeking itinerary allows, utilizing attractive hotels and eco-lodges, private vehicles and first or luxury class railway transportation. JOURNEYS goals for this trip include the best possible naturalist leadership, support of local conservation efforts, maximum amount of time spent in natural environments and services meeting the highest possible standards of health, safety and participant convenience.

He lead the first South India birding tour, and in the process uncovered the route which all tours use today. Among his other experiences, Avijit has lead tours to the remote Himachal Pradesh, and has sighted many rare species of birds, as well as tigers and other animals. Avijit has guided independently as well as for various tour companies.
