    Madagascar: Tails of the Wild

Accompanied by Pat Ballard, JOURNEYS Director of Sales

Madagascar, the Land of the Lemurs, is unlike anywhere else in the world! This trip combines unparalleled wildlife viewing and exploration of varied ecological zones along with rich cultural experiences to create an unforgettable adventure.
The Malagasy peoples of Madagascar speak French and were originally from India, Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. This incredible synthesis of tradition, religion, and culture created a society striking in its physical beauty and remarkable in its uniformity of language. While visiting their country we’ll see their beautiful architecture, their farming techniques and their woodworking and other craft skills. Our wildlife experience in Madagascar wouldn’t be complete without seeing the famous Ringtail Lemurs, but we’ll also see the newly discovered Golden Bamboo Lemurs in Ranomafana, the White Sifaka and Brown Lemurs in Isalo, and listen for the sounds of the Indri Lemur’s famous song in Perinet, all while watching out for the 75 species of chameleons that call Madagscar home. The fascinating culture and extraordinary wildlife of Madagascar combine in this trip to create a once-in-a-lifetime journey.
